Cover Your Septic Tank

Septic Tank Cover Ideas

Decorative Septic Rock Covers

Fast and easy septic tank cover ideas! Sewer systems are towards the top of the list when it comes to lawn and landscape unsightliness.  Especially now-a-days with tighter restrictions regarding leach field venting and inspection points.  Potentially beautiful yards can look more like slalom courses of ugly concrete septic tank cover lids and white plastic vents.  Most building codes have tight restrictions on sewage system components, leaving homeowners with very few options when it comes to hiding it all from view (similar to utility boxes). Luckily, DekoRRa has come to the rescue with a variety of super realistic artificial rock decorative septic tank lid covers perfect for a variety of applications!

When measuring for a proper fit please don't forget the junction box. It's the little square box on the side of many tank configurations, especially the newer plastic models.  If your rig has one of these junction boxes, be sure to include it as part of the diameter measurement.  And speaking of diameter measurements, diameter is a diagonal measure across the top vs circumference which is the measurement around the outer edge.  When fitting these enclosures it's diameter that's important.

Wondering how to hide septic tank cover risers out in your yard?  You're not the only one!  Lots of folks living out in the suburbs or in the country are faced with these ugly plastic and concrete obstructions poking up from the ground.  What to do?  They can't be moved, and they need frequent access, so planting shrubs and bushes to shield them is a big mistake.

With these fake rocks, covering a septic system is fast and easy!  Not only are they light weight and easy to put in place, they are easy to remove when access to the tank lid becomes necessary.  Covering a septic system with a artificial rock septic tank riser cover has never been easier!

In fact the hardest part isn't placing the rock enclosure over the riser, it's actually choosing the right size rock that can be a bit challenging.  But have no fear, we are here to help! Check out this video:

In a nutshell, all you need to do is run outside with a measuring tape and record the height of the riser and cap, along with the diameter of the cap. Remember, diameter is simply a diagonal measure across the top.  Not to be confused with circumference which is a measurement around the outside edge (perimeter).  Once you get the dimensions down you can either go here to view the interior dimension charts, or take the easy route and use the Rockulator here for a quick list of rock models which will work for your particular application.
