When covering certain objects with fake rocks it is very important to consider proper ventilation. Below is a guide with vent suggestions for different applications. Vents are painted to match rock colors, and are installed prior to shipping. If wish to install the vents yourself, please indicate so in the order notes at checkout. The vents are easy to install on site.
Septic Applications: One or two of the 3″ or 4″ vents is suggested when covering septic tanks, cleanouts, and pipes.
Well Applications: Standard residential water wells with just the wellhead exposed above ground do not require venting. Water wells with pump motors exposed above ground do require venting to prevent the motor from overheating. Two to four of the 3″ or 4″ vents are suggested when covering above ground well pumps.
Utility And Electrical Boxes: Two to four of the 3″ or 4″ vents are suggested when covering utility and electrical boxes in order to keep the components cool.
Note: These suggestions are basic guidelines based on our past experiences covering and venting different utilities.
